Founder, CEO, and Managing Partner, Oceanpine Capital
Dave Liguang Chenn, MBA ’00, has been the CEO and managing partner of Oceanpine Capital since its inception in 2018. In this role, he leads and oversees over $2 billion investments in over 100 portfolio companies in the areas of technology and healthcare. Prior to Oceapine Capital, Chenn founded China Century Group in 2005. He also founded a number of its subsidiary companies. China Century Group is a conglomerate company headquartered in Beijing with an asset of over $5 billion in the areas of technology, renewable energy, and healthcare, in major regions of China. Before China Century Group, Chenn worked at Oracle’s Silicon Valley headquarters for 5 years, as well as at McKinsey and Emerson Electric in Chicago.
Chenn serves as a member of the Council on Chicago Booth; trustee of Culver Academies; vice chairman of China Green Energy Fund; vice chairman of the board of directors for Beijing Institute of Technology; and trustee of Beijing Film Academy. In recognition of his successful entrepreneurship and his philanthropy contributions, he has received the awards “Top Ten Reformer of China’s Growth in 2017," "Innovation Leader of China’s Economy in 2016," "China's Top 20 Investor of Semiconductor in 2020," "China's Top 10 Investor of Biopharma in 2020," "China's Top 50 Investor in 2023," among many others.
Chenn earned a BS from Beijing Institute of Technology in China and his MBA from the University of of Business.
